Governor Jim Doyle stopped at Beloit College Wednesday to encourage students to vote ahead of Election Day.

He says voting early ensures the vote is cast, in case something unforeseen happens on Election Day and they don't get a chance to vote. He says that also frees up time for student volunteers to encourage classmates, roommates and friends to vote. He says although Wisconsin is not considered the key battleground state anymore, it is still important to vote because the presidential race will be close.

Doyle spoke to a rally of Barack Obama supporters.
