— Janesville police are investigating break-ins reported by the owners of vehicles parked in three north side motel parking lots.

Deputy Police Chief, Dave Moore, says in all cases the thieves targeted autos containing portable GPS units visible from the outside. Moore says locking your vehicles is no longer enough and hiding or removing valuable possessions is important.

Janesville Police were hoping to see a reduction in the number of car break-ins with the arrest of three suspects last week.

The motel parking lots hit last night were Motel 6, Hampton Inn, and Holiday Inn Express.
