Police plan arrest today in knife attack

— Janesville police know who the person is who assaulted a 39-year-old male Janesville man early today at Jumbo's Bar, 1110 Kellogg Ave., and are hoping to make an arrest today on charges of recklessly endangering safety.

Janesville police officers responded to the assault in the parking lot of the business at 1:16 a.m. when they learned the victim had been cut in the face by some type of edged weapon. The suspect had a knife and a box cutter blade in his possession, according to a police department spokesman.

The victim had been standing in front of the bar before the incident and witnessed an argument between the suspect and another unidentified person.

Then the victim was attacked by the suspect, according to police.

The victim was treated and released from Mercy Hospital.
