Brodhead ends Edgerton's season

Brodhead High School snuffed Edgerton’s bid for a first-time sectional appearance with a 3-1 victory in a WIAA Division 2 regional final Saturday at Evansville.


The Cardinals defeated the Rock Valley Conference champions, 25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 25-14. Edgerton was up 21-16 in the third game.


Kristen Ruchti made 33 kills, and Cassie Wymer made 63 assists for Brodhead.


The No. 2 seed Brodhead will face No. 4 seed River Valley on Thursday night at Brodhead. The winner will play either Madison Edgewood or Greendale in a sectional final on Saturday at Fort Atkinson.


Edgerton finishes the season, 31-9.

? n Greendale 3, Big Foot 1—Losing 2-0, Big Foot posted a 25-22 victory, but Greendale rolled to a 25-12 victory to seal the victory.


Laura Hanley maded 28 kills for Big Foot and Kristen Halma added 64 assists.


Greendale with face top-seeded Madison Edgewood in a sectional semifinal on Thursday at Lakeside Lutheran. The winner play Brodhead or Riverdale in a sectional final at Fort Atkinson on Saturday.
