Craig opens playoffs against Tremper

— Janesville Craig will play at Kenosha Tremper in a first-round, WIAA Division 1 football playoff game Tuesday night.

The Cougars will carry a 5-4 record into the game against a 7-2 Tremper team.

The winner will face Mukwonago (4-5) or Middleton (8-1) in a Level 2 game a week from Saturday.

Thatís just one of seven games involving teams in The Janesville Gazette circulation area.

In Division 2, Badger Conference champion Milton (7-2) drew a No. 1 seed and will host Elkhorn (5-4). The winner faces Franklin (5-4) or Oregon (5-4) in Level 2.

Lake Geneva Badger (6-2) drew second-seeded and Big Eight co-champion Verona (8-1) in its playoff opener at Verona. The winner will play Waterford (7-2) or Whitnall (5-3) in Level 2.

In Division 3, Jefferson (6-3) will play Madison Edgewood (5-4) at Middleton High School at 4:30 p.m. The winner faces McFarland (9-0) or Mount Horeb Barneveld (5-4) in the second round.

Delavan-Darien (5-4) will play at Evansville (8-1) in another Division 3 opener. The winner faces Wisconsin Dells (7-2) or Reedsbug (6-3) in Level 2.

In Division 4, top-seeded Walworth Big Foot (9-0) will host Lakeside Lutheran (5-4). The winner meets Winnebago Lutheran (7-2) or Poynette(5-4) in the second round.

Brodhead/Juda (7-2) will host Kettle Moraine Lutheran (6-3), with the winner drawing Mayville (6-3) or Ripon (7-2) in Level 2.
