— The state of Wisconsin is doling out the first federal money earmarked for flood related damage from severe weather last June.

It comes in the form of Community Development Block Grants and is administered by the State Department of Commerce. DOC Secretary, Tony Hozeny, says 13 counties, including Rock, are on the list to get the initial funding. Hozeny says eligible low to moderate income homeowners will benefit from this pot of money, and it may be enough to handle all of the requests. But he says there will be additional money if necessary. Rock County's initial share of the money is $500,000, which will be handed out in the form of grants.

There is a separate fund set up for flood recovery for small businesses, however it is a loan program.
