— Mutual aid from several stateline area fire departments, including Beloit, couldn't save a house with attached garage in Rockton.

Rockton Fire Department Lt. Cory Magnus says they responded to 1144 Aldrin just before midnight Tuesday and found the house fully involved upon arrival.

He says all occupants escaped the blaze without injury.

Magnus says the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Illinois state fire marshal's office although they've been able to determine the fire started on an outside deck at the rear of the house.

Preliminary damage estimates for house and contents are between $350,000 to $400,000.
