— SPX Corp. informed the state Department of Workforce Development on Friday it will lay off 169 workers at Lake Mills over a seven-month period starting Dec. 18, and the plant is expected to close.

The plant makes food-processing equipment and has been in Lake Mills since the late 1800s. SPX is based in Charlotte, N.C., and purchased the former APV Cerpaco facility last January.

Just FYI...it is APV CREPACO. My parents worked there for over 20 years. It'll be sad to see it close.
