Janesville League plans forum
Two weeks to election day, and the Janesville League of Women Voters wants to call attention to the First Congressional race.
The league is planning a candidates forum Tuesday night. League moderator Laura Boettcher says all four candidates, Republican incumbent Paul Ryan, Democratic challenger Marge Krupp, Libertarian candidate Joseph Kexel, and registered write-in Greg Addie are invited. Boettcher believes the First Congressional race is much more interesting this year, than in recent election cycles. Key issues to be discussed will include the economy, Iraq War, and health care. Events like this, and a renewed interest in politics recently, may be paying dividends in building awareness for the league.
The forum will be aired on Janesville's cable access television channel live at 7:00, and rerun several times until election day.
