Charges requested in Milton bomb incident

WCLO's Steve Benton reports Milton police forward charge in bomb threat

MILTON — The case against a 14 year old female student, suspected in a Milton bomb scare incident, is advanced by Milton police.

Last Thursday, Milton High School officials notified police that the word "bomb" was found written on an inside wall of the school. Police evacuated the building, searched it, and then searched all students entering the building Friday.

Chief Jerry Schuetz says they were able to identify the suspect by using video surveillance equipment in the school and through interviews with students. On Monday Schuetz forwarded their recommendation of a charge of "felony bomb scare" to the juvenile intake office. From there it will be forwarded to the District Attorney's office.

Schuetz says the suspect has been suspended from school pending further actions, and was taken to a secure juvenile facility after her arrest on Friday.
