The State DOT is warning of the dangers associated with campaign signs along roadways.

Statewide Coordinator of Outdoor Advertising, Deb Brucaya, says campaign workers put themselves in harm's way by placing signs along busy highways and in medians. Highway workers taking signs out of the right-of-way also could be hit by a vehicle.

Brucaya says signs at busy intersections also reduce visibility for drivers, which could result in a collision. She says she's not aware of any recent political sign-related injuries.
