Milton High clinched at least a tie for the Badger South Conference football title without playing Thursday night.

On Friday night, Zach Fry and the Red Hawks dominated nonconference opponent Portage, 55-0, to put an exclamation point on the title tie.

Fry’s four touchdown passes led the Red Hawks (6-2, 4-1) to a homecoming victory over Portage. With Madison Edgewood’s loss to Monona Grove on Thursday, all Milton has to do is beat Fort Atkinson on Wednesday to clinch an undisputed title.

Two of Fry’s touchdown passes went to Brandon Farnsworth, covering 7 and 46 yards. Two others went to Ethan Bachinski, covering 13 and 15 yards.

Nick Karleski returned a punt 67 yards for a score, and Hank McIvor returned the second-half kickoff 80 yards for another. McIvor also ran 34 yards for another touchdown and finished with 95 yards on 11 carries.

Fry completed 13 of 19 passes for 278 yards and the four touchdowns.
