UW-W to kick off homecoming activities Sunday

— The UW-Whitewater homecoming celebration kicks off Sunday with a number of activities for alumni, students and staff to reconnect as Warhawks.

“Besides the earning of a degree, for many, homecoming is a common thread that connects all Warhawks,” said Jan Bilgen of Career and Leadership Development. “Homecoming is a time to celebrate being a Warhawk and the best of UW-Whitewater.”


Homecoming events geared toward students include:


-- Noon-6 p.m. Sunday—James R. Connor University Center (UC), window painting.


-- 7:30-11:30 p.m. Monday—Hamilton Center, UC, homecoming dance.


-- 8 p.m. Wednesday—Young Auditorium, variety show.


-- 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24—Williams Center Gym No. 1, “Yell Like Hell” spirit rally.


-- 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25—Main Street, homecoming parade.


-- 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25—Perkins Stadium, UW-Whitewater vs. UW-Stevens Point football.


Homecoming events geared toward alumni and friends include:


-- 2-3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24—Greenhill Center of the Arts, class of 1958 reunion tour.


-- 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24—Old Main Ballroom, UC, class of 1958 reunion dinner.


-- 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25—Memorial Gateway (Main Street), homecoming parade and alumni tent.


-- 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25—Coulthart Family Pavilion, alumni and friends pre-game.


-- 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25—Perkins Stadium, UW-Whitewater vs. UW-Stevens Point football.


-- 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25—Hamilton Center, UC, Athletic Hall of Fame banquet.
