So much for the Janesville Superintendent of Schools quiet retirement.

Tom Evert tells WCLO's Stan Milam show he avoided the news conference to announce his retirement, simply because he didn't want to be in the spotlight talking about his history in the district. Evert says there was no pressure for him to retire. He says there was no disagreement. Evert says he just didn't want to be there.

Evert believes the important issue should be focusing on the qualities needed in a new superintendent.
