— Janesville Parker High School’s girls swim team splashed past visiting Madison La Follette, 106-64, and dunked coach Andrea Nickel to celebrate.

“It was a win, and that’s a good thing,” said Nickel, who said she was pushed, pulled and dragged into the Parker pool “It was a team victory.”

The Vikings won eight of 11 events to improve to 2-5 in the Big Eight Conference.

Parker swept the 100 butterfly and the 100 backstroke. Emily Mauermann won the 100 freestyle in 59.56 second and the 200 freestyle in 2:13.85.

“Most of the girls had career-best times,” Nichols said. “This was a great effort.’’

The Vikings will compete in the Rockford Auburn Relays today at 11 a.m. Parker finished second in the event last season.
