The Janesville Jaycees are making final preparations for their 6th Annual Haunted Train Ride.

The train ride opens Saturday at the Rock River Thresheree grounds on Highway 51 between Janesville and Edgerton. The train will leave every 20 minutes from 2 to 10 p.m. Saturdays, Oct. 11, 18, 25; 2 to 7 p.m. Sundays, Oct. 12, 19, 26, and 6 to 10 p.m. Halloween night, Friday, Oct. 31. Admission is free for those 2 and younger, $4 for those 3 to 5 and $6 for those 6 and older. The 2 to 4 p.m. matinees are least scary. Rides from 4 to 6 p.m. are scarier, and rides from 6 to 10 p.m. are the scariest. Concessions will include hot beverages and baked goods. Activities include children’s Halloween games and pumpkin decorating.

"The committee discussed problems in 2005 with the Jaycees cleaning up and removing their materials and equipment in a timely fashion." anyone have any thoughts on this ? and what about the people that were burned and injured at the jaycees past fireworks show ? did they treat them the same way they treat clean up responsibilities ?

We went to the Fright Factory the first year they had it! It was the scariest haunted anything I had ever been through! Jaycees haunted house was NOTHING compared to the Aqau Jays!

I'm very concerned. This is the sixth year they are running these train rides, and it's STILL haunted? I think parents have a right to insist on a thorough and professional ghostbusting before this ride is opened again. Where is the state Department of Supernatural Resources on this one, anyway?

This year the train ride from 6-10 is going to be for the "tweens" This is the first year that the train will be running this late. It's the best (from expieriance) that the later the better. The Last Train of the night is the best.

It's been a long time since they had the Haunted Hayrides. The Aqua Jays did those, and they were fun..........to bad that they had to discontinue them,

Everyone who puts on these Haunted events have to be very careful so no one gets hurt. I believe that there is a "no touching" rule and you can only get so close to the visitors.

Do they still do the haunted hay rides out in Happy Hollow??? Cuz those were pretty freaky when I was a younger teen. There is the Fright Factory too. I've never been there so I don't know how scary it is.

These rides are great for the little ones, but not even close to being scary for tweens and older. These are the 'G-rated' Halloween events. Does anyone know of any actually scary Halloween events in the area?
