— Janesville Craig High School’s girls volleyball team came up short Thursday night in a nonconference match against Lakeside Lutheran.

With the match tied at a game a piece, the visiting Warriors won games three and four en route to a 3-1 victory.

“The first three games we passed really well,” Craig coach Blake Budrow said. “I think played so hard the first three games that we were a little bit tired in the fourth game.”

Sophomore Michelle Straw led the Cougars in kills with 13, while Budrow also praised the defensive play of Jillynn Mortensen.

Craig plays at the Portage Invitational on Saturday.
