Vikings get soaked in soccer loss to Memorial
Madison Memorial High School's boys soccer team scored all four of its goals in the first half Tuesday night en route to a Big Eight Conference victory over visiting Janesville Parker.
Parker (4-11-2, 0-7-1), despite miserable playing conditions, kept the Spartans off the board in the second half.
“Once the guys figured out the footing and how tough it was to control the ball, they played even with them in the second half,” Parker coach Andy Holmes said.
“The playing conditions were horrible. There was standing water on the field, and the ball was sliding all over. They finally called the game with about 10 minutes left.”
Peter Nicoloff made 11 saves for Parker.
The Vikings host Columbus in a nonconference game at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
