Budget cuts have made providing a gifted education program in the Janesville School District a challenge.
Gifted Education Coordinator Ruth Robinson says the district only has resource teachers at the elementary level, and the number of positions have been reduced significantly over time. Robinson says the district is reviewing service models to reallocate funds. She also says special effort is being made to identify gifted students no matter what their economic or foreign language background.
This is Gifted Education Week in Wisconsin.
