A two-point conversion pass after its overtime touchdown gave Madison Edgewood High School a 29-27 overtime victory over visiting Fort Atkinson in Badger Conference football Friday night.

After battling back from a 21-6 halftime deficit, Fort grabbed the lead in overtime on Wes Frankkiewicz’s 1-yard touchdown run. Edgewood (3-3, 2-1) tied it on Mario Minnaert’s 12-yard touchdown pass to Joe Curtin run and two-point conversion pass to J.R. Acker.

C.J. Zimmerman led Fort (1-5, 0-4) with 164 yards rushing on 23 carries, while Frankiewicz completed 10 of 14 passes for 118 yards.

It was Fort Atkinson’s second straight overtime loss and knocked the Blackhawks out of WIAA playoff contention for the first in eight years under coach Steve Mahoney.

Matt Knipfer gained 131 yards on 18 carries, including a 35-yard touchdown run.
