The Janesville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau is "Going Green".

Director Christine Rebout says the Bureau recently earned certification from Travel Green Wisconsin. The certification is awarded to Wisconsin tourism businesses and organizations that have made a commitment and developed a plan to reduce the environmental impact their actions have. Rebout says they've gone so far as to measure their trash. She says the certification is important because many groups and organizations will only patronize communities with eco-friendly practices.

The JACVB now plans to encourage and assist other local business and organizations in acquiring their Travel Green Wisconsin certification.
