A Janesville man is hospitalized after laying in front of a train at Janesville's Five Points intersection around 2:00 Wednesday afternoon.

Witnesses told Janesville police the 38-year-old man got out of his car while it was stopped and waiting for the crossing arms to rise. He walked to the front of the slow-moving train and laid down on the tracks. The conductor and engineer immediately braked, but it took the train 40 feet to stop, critically injuring the man.
