Clear Lake problems discussed
Podcast Episode
WCLO's Steve Benton reports a U-W hydrologist plans to talk to Milton residents about Clear Lake.
MILTON While heavy rains in 2007 and 2008 and a heavy snow melt last spring caused the Rock River to spill over its banks early last summer, the water eventually receded. That's not the case for Milton's Clear Lake, and other areas in south central Wisconsin.
Hydrologist for the U-W Extension, Madeline Gotkowitz, says Clear Lake doesn't react to flooding the same way the Rock River does.
Her talk Tuesday night begins with information and then opens into a discussion. Solutions vary from doing nothing and hoping for a drought to costlier measures.
The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 Tuesday night at the town hall in the Town of Milton at 23, First Street.
