The City of Janesville hopes to purchase property at 337 North Franklin Street near Mercy Hospital.

Development Specialist Al Hulick says the city has an accepted offer to purchase. Hulick says the accepted offer is $90,000. He says that's below the list value and equalized value of the property. The city's plan commission reviews the potential purchase Monday, although the plan commission does not consider the financial aspects of such purchases. The acquisition comes before the city council on June 9th.

The site was featured as a potential redevelopment site during a City Council bus tour last summer.

Hulick says the reuse has not been determined, but it will likely be turned into a parking lot.
