Attendance was poor at an open house for employers of Janesville's National Guard soldiers, but Company Commander CPT Chad Simandl says that could mean the soldiers are already telling their employers what to expect leading up to the 2009 deployment.

First Sergeant Carl Petrick of Janesville is helping is family come to terms with his deployment to the Middle East.

Petrick says his kids don't know about his deployment, but his family is supportive and rallying around his wife. He says he has the "easy part" because he's over there doing his day-to-day job. He says his family has the hardest task of being left behind without always knowing what's going on overseas.
