The Janesville Public Works Department plans to do a little showing off today.

It's National Public Works Week, and the men and women dedicating their working lives to helping maintain Janesville, plan to have an open house Wednesday afternoon. City Operations Director John Whitcomb says the City Services Center on Highway 51 north, and Wastewater Treatment Plant on Tripp Road, will be open for inspection from 3:00 until 7:00. Whitcomb says different areas interest different people. With a growing number of residents being interested in public works, the open house has been consolidated to just two sites.

This is the third year for the open house.
