As the Janesville School Board grapples over a proposed 5% tax levy increase in next year's budget, District Business Manager Doug Bunton advises WCLO's Stan Milam Show caution should be taken.

Bunton says we are in a slightly declining enrollment environment. He says with the revenue cap, more budget reductions will be needed in the next few years. Bunton says the school board dipped into district savings to reduce the impact on last year's tax levy. He says part of the reason for the jump in this year's levy is a reduction in state aid.

The school board will discuss the budget again next week Tuesday.
