Clinton negotiators agree on early retirement benefits
CLINTON Negotiators came to a tentative agreement Monday in mediation on early retirement benefits for teachers in the Clinton School District, said Randy Gracyalny, district negotiator and school board president.
Negotiators did not agree on salaries after Monday’s all-day session, Gracyalny said.
Neither side was willing to share details of negotiations with the school board or the public until the teachers had been informed, he said.
In a March press release, while a mediation schedule was being finalized, negotiators told The Janesville Gazette that the board’s latest offer included an increase of 4.3 percent in salary and benefits combined for the current year and 4.2 percent in 2008-09.
At the time, the Clinton Education Association’s last offer was 4.5 percent and 4.4 percent.
The school board did not hear details of the mediation session Monday night. The board will go into closed session in the future to get details, Gracyalny said.
