— Thousands of city residents can ignore delinquent water notices sent to the wrong addresses.

The city mailed 4,500 notices recently alerting residents they owe money on their water accounts, but some were sent to the wrong addresses.

The city isn’t sure how many were sent to wrong addresses, but it advises anyone who receives a notice to disregard it, said Mary Easland of the water billing department. Officials will mail out a fresh batch to the correct property owners.

“We’re assuming most of them were incorrect, and we’re redoing the project,” Easland said.
