New Parker principal might be local choice
JANESVILLE The search for the new principal of Parker High School is being conducted locally.
The district is posting the opening only within the school district. However, if someone from outside finds out about it and applies, that person would be considered, said Steve Johnson, director of human and administrative services.
Principal Dale Carlson will leave at the end of the year to become the superintendent in the Holmen School District.
Superintendent Tom Evert said earlier that an internal search would be quicker than the normal route, which includes advertising the position throughout the upper Midwest.
“Dr. Evert wants to see if we have the right person in the district before going the long route,” Johnson said.
Meanwhile, the district has begun a search for a new assistant principal at Edison Middle School. The current AP, John Walczak, has been appointed principal of Jackson Elementary School.
The district also is searching for a new principal for Wilson Elementary School.
The Edison and Wilson searches are not limited to district staff, Evert said.

The "internal search" need not go any farther than the walls of Parker High School. There is no other better qualified and experienced person for the job than Dr. Schroeder.
