Memorial shuts down Parker soccer team
MADISON Janesville Parker was running on empty in a 3-0 loss to Madison Memorial in a Big Eight Conference girls soccer regular-season finale Tuesday night.
After scoring the first goal this season on undefeated Middleton in a 3-1 loss Monday, the visiting Vikings had trouble getting their engines revved up against the formidable Spartans.
“We were gassed,” Parker coach Matt Beisser said. “We were just dead on our feet after playing two top-ranked teams on back-to-back nights.”
Parker finished 4-4 in the Big Eight and is 13-6 overall.
Memorial scored three goals in the first half.
“Memorial had 20 girls ready to go and rotated to keep fresh all night,” Beisser said.
Parker’s Sam Anacker was yeoman in goal, making 13 saves.
Parker (13-6) completes its regular season with a nonconference game Westosha Central at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
