Misstep lands car inside restaurant

JANESVILLE — A driver chose one pedal over the other Monday, and now the Taco Bell at the corner of Pontiac Drive and Highway 14 will get a new women’s bathroom.

At 9 p.m., Janesville police responded to an accident at the restaurant at 2626 Humes Road.

A 55-year-old driver told police she wasn’t feeling well, and she hit the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal while she was parking. The name of the driver was not available this morning.

The car went through the outer wall of the building and into the women’s restroom. Nobody was in the bathroom, and the driver was not hurt.

Police say about half the vehicle was inside of the building.
