Jury convicts Footville robbery suspect
MADISON A federal jury convicted an Illinois man Wednesday on charges stemming from the robbery of the Mid America Bank in Footville on Nov. 9.
Matthew Evans, 36, Rockford, Ill., is scheduled to be sentenced May 9 by U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Evans faces a maximum of 40 years in prison on charges of armed robbery, conspiracy and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.
The jury returned guilty verdicts after a three-day trial. He is accused of robbing the bank with four others: Skye Archambault, 20, of Orfordville, and three Rockford men—Troy Thomas, 35; Donald Thompson, 21; and Curtis Seaberry, 20.
The four others all pleaded guilty and testified against Evans, according to the news release. Evans claimed he waited in the car and did not participate in the robbery.
Evans, Thomas, Thompson and Seaberry were the ones who entered the bank, wearing masks and displaying three weapons, according to the news release. They made off with $5,895.

prison is just like home to him. wonder where his daddy was while he was growing up. maybe he can have a reunion with him in the federal prison. apple probably did not fall far from the tree. or....maybe we should take in concideration that society is to blame again because this poor soul had such a rough upbringing. we just didn't give him enough free things.
