— Destinee Blue of Division 1 champion Milwaukee Vincent and Megan VanTatenhove of Division 3 champion Oostburg shared the most valuable player award at the 2008 Wisconsin State Girls Basketball Tournament.

Blue, a 6-foot-4 senior who is headed for Cleveland State, led the Vikings to their second straight Division 1 title Saturday night.

VanTatenhove, a 5-11 senior headed for St. Bonaventure, led the Lady Dutch to the Division 3 crown after finishing second to Cuba City a year ago.

Joining Blue and VanTatenhove as unanimous choices in the voting by media members covering the three-day tournament were Krista Pelkey of Division 1 runner-up Oshkosh West, Rachael Hencke of Grafton, the defending Division 2 champion that was upset by Freedom in the semifinals, and Lindsey Brost of Division 4 champion Flambeau.

Rounding out the 12-member team were Vincent’s Teri Stamps and Brittney Mason; Leslie Schaefer, Verona; Stacie Van Handel, Freedom; Ashley Hermanson and Jamie Armstrong, both of Monroe, and Reegan Cheslock, Saint Mary Central.
