RE: BEYOND UNITY

After a hard-fought and historic campaign this spring, the Democratic Party continues to come together behind Barack Obama to work for victory in November. The joint appearance by Barack and Sen. Hillary Clinton in Unity, NH, is only the first of many events to come.

These events will demonstrate how committed all Democrats are—regardless of which candidate they might have supported during the primaries and caucuses—to bringing about the change America so desperately needs.

The schedule below is offered for your guidance; it is not final. Times and formats may be adjusted, and other events may be added as the campaign progresses, depending on strategic considerations and the availability of the various principals.

One thing we’re sure of, though: After Unity, there will still be plenty of unity.

Wednesday, July 2: Barack and Sen. Clinton to appear together at a rally in New Harmony, Ind. Sen. Clinton to repeat her commitment to “give 110 percent” to make sure Barack is elected the next president of the United States.

Friday, July 4: Barack and Sen. Clinton to speak at an Independence Day service in Alliance, Ohio. Barack to praise Sen. Clinton as a “groundbreaking pioneer” and a “Founding Mother of a New America.”

Tuesday, July 8: Barack and Sen. Clinton in Accord, NY, for conference on “Tough Times, New Approaches.” Sen. Clinton to endorse Barack’s economic package. Barack to reaffirm his call for universal health care.

Thursday, July 17: “Salute to All Our Daughters” rally in Chelsea, Maine. Barack and Sen. Clinton to be joined by their spouses and children to recognize new opportunities for women, and “millions of cracks in the glass ceiling.”

Sunday, July 20: Barack and former President Bill Clinton to hold “town hall”-style meeting in Strain, Mo. (Note: As currently scheduled, this will be the first campaign event involving only Barack and President Clinton as principals.)

Wednesday, July 23: “Western Days” festival in Bitter Creek, Wyo. Bill and Hillary Clinton to join Barack and Michelle at barbecue and rally, first stop on multicity tour.

Thursday, July 24: Barack and the Clintons to speak in Migraine, NM.

Friday, July 25: Barack and Michelle and the Clintons host joint fund-raiser in Golden Grudge, Ca.

Saturday, July 26: Voter-registration drive in Craw, SD.

Sunday, July 27: “Those Wonderful Clinton Years” rally in Loose Cannon, Or.

Monday, July 28: Midnight rally in Envy, Nev.

Wednesday, July 30: “Founders Day” Parade in Squabble, Vt.

Thursday, July 31: Airport rally in Phony Smile, GA.

Friday, Aug. 1: Bonfire in Watch Your Back, KY.

More details to follow. All events are subject to change.
