— A 57 year old Janesville man faces charges of battery and disorderly conduct while armed following a family dispute.

Janesville police say Michael Griffeth allegedly threatened his 44 year old wife with a .38 caliber hand gun around 4:30 Tuesday morning at 502 South Academy Street. The victim called police after fleeing the house.

Police set up a perimeter around the house and were able to talk Griffeth out of the house a half hour later. No shots were fired and nobody was hurt.

Griffeth is being held at the Rock County jail pending formal charges.
