— South Beloit firefighters responded to a fire at the Ace Tap at 460 Blackhawk Blvd, and asked for assistance from several other stateline area fire departments.

South Beloit Fire Chief, Ken Morse, says one of their firefighters saw smoke coming from the building on the way to work, around 5:40 Monday morning, and called in the alarm.

Morse says there is considerable smoke and fire damage and estimated loss is $125,000.

An agent from the Illinois State Fire Marshal's office is due on the scene today to help determine the cause of the fire.
