The Janesville School Board might consider consolidating some of the school district's special education programs in order to make those programs more efficient.

During a budget study session Monday, School Board President DuWayne Severson said although the cuts aren't necessary now, he's looking for ways to save money in the future. Commissioner Lori Stottler says she wants to provide training for the students who will be living in a group home in the future. She suggests using the new kitchens at Craig to have students learn in an environment that will be best for them once they enter society at age 21.

The school board requested more information about areas of the program that could be consolidated or updated.
