Beloit police arrest man in standoff
BELOIT Beloit police arrested 38 year old Edward Bick of 1003 Copeland Avenue around eight o'clock Tuesday morning after a four hour stand-off.
Bick, who is facing charges in a domestic abuse case, told police he had a gun and refused to give himself up.
Police tried to negotiate with Bick, but when that didn't work, they made a forced entry into the house. Bick was found hiding in the basement.
Tyler says police used pepper spray to help control a potentially dangerous situation. Police searched the house but did not find a weapon.
Bick faces several charges related to the domestic abuse incident and the stand-off.
