Street resurfacing could cause delays

— Street resurfacing activities are planned for these city of Janesville streets from today to about Wednesday, June 18.

Work will include grinding, removal and replacement of asphalt. The streets will be open to through traffic, and driveway access will be maintained.

Curbside parking will not be allowed. Expect delays and congestion.

-- Cottonwood Drive from Randolph Road to Lucerne Drive.

-- Randolph Road from Claremont Drive to Ontario Drive.

-- Sumac Drive from Randolph Road to Roxbury Road.

-- Hancock Lane from Independence Road to Refset Drive.

-- Harmony Drive from Independence Road to Refset Drive.

-- Refset Drive from Liberty Lane to Hancock Lane.

-- Frontage Road along the south side of E. Racine Street east of Palmer Drive.

-- East Milwaukee Street east of Interstate 90/39 (Small pavement patch extending across the two westbound lanes).

Street reconstruction activities on Randall Avenue between Ruger Avenue and Sherman Avenue are expected to start Tuesday, June 10, and finish Friday, July 11, prior to set up for the annual Rock County 4-H Fair.

Work will include removal of asphalt and base, construction of new base, new pavement and some new signal equipment and markings.

Randall Avenue between Ruger Avenue and Sherman Avenue will be closed to through traffic. East/west traffic on Milwaukee Street will be allowed.

A detour route will be provided using Mt. Zion Avenue, Lexington Drive and Ruger Avenue.
