— Traffic issues aired at a Wednesday listening session include:

-- Fast traffic on Wright Road between Humes and Rotamer roads. City Manager Steve Sheiffer promised to put police there.

-- A proposed pedestrian tunnel on East Milwaukee Street, which has been tabled because of costs. Jack Messer, director of public works, says the speed and multiple lanes create the hazard.

One resident suggested pedestrian-activated stoplights.

Messer said his options will go before the council June 23, and they include adding pedestrian islands and either widening or narrowing the road.

-- A stoplight at Wuthering Hills Drive and Milwaukee Street, the site of a traffic fatality last fall. John Bladorn, 4244 Valencia Drive, whose wife died in the accident, asked the council to improve the safety at the intersection.

That issue is scheduled to go before the transportation committee Tuesday and the city council June 23. Messer said he received a traffic analysis from a consultant Wednesday, and copies are available to anyone interested.
