Federal report shows Janesville ranks high for job losses

Metropolitan Janesville falls in the top ten in the nation for job reductions in the past year, according to federal data released Wednesday.

State Secretary of Workforce Development Roberta Gassman says Wisconsin is one of the top states when it comes to successfully competing for federal dollars for displaced workers. The state has never been turned down for those funds. Gassman says the impact of General Motors' decisions reaches across the area. She says the state is working to get the most assistance to affected workers.
