Police pleased with digital billboards

Janesville police are enjoying the digital age.

The Janesville Police Department is finding success with a new program using digital billboards as wanted posters. Sergeant Brian Donohoue says the program is a partnership with the Lamar Corporation and has already netted several arrests. He says of the 12 suspects featured in the first couple months of the effort, ten of the cases have been resolved. Donohoue says the ease of adding new information to the billboards makes them very effective. The success can be measured by the increased public response.

He says activity for the Crime Stoppers Tip Line has tripled since the billboards began.
