Foundation starts flood recovery fund
JANESVILLE The Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin has established a Flood 2008 Recovery Fund.
One hundred percent of its tax-deductible donations will be used to support nonprofit organizations providing direct assistance to those affected by flooding. The fund will work through approved nonprofit organizations and other community foundations to target needs unmet by other sources.
An anonymous donor has offered a $100,000 challenge match for flood recovery contributions. So the local foundation is challenging the communities across southern Wisconsin and Iowa to match this gift.
Donors are encouraged to designate their gifts to specific flood affected areas in southern Wisconsin and/or Iowa. Funds collected to benefit Rock County victims will be granted to Rock County United Ways’ Flood Recovery Fund to avoid recovery duplication efforts.
Send contributions to the foundation at P.O. Box 8152, Janesville, WI 53547-8152.
