Walworth County Board candidate forums planned
Three candidate forums have been announced for Walworth County Board primaries.
-- 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Peoples Bank, 837 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn. Candidates from District 2, District 3 and District 6 will attend the forum hosted by Paula McGowan of Elkhorn.
McGowan, a supporter of downsizing the board, said she would not personally partake in the forum.
A neutral moderator will allow each five minutes for opening statements and one minute to answer anonymous questions from the audience.
Attending will be District 2 candidates Bill Norem and Jim C. Simons, District 3 candidates Frederick Mark Bromley, Ann Lohrmann and Craig Stauffer and District 6 candidates Robert Grohall, Larry Hilbelink and Kathy Ingersoll. The order for answering questions will rotate.
-- 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the Williams Bay Municipal Building, 250 Williams St., Williams Bay. District 7 candidates Sonja Berg-Schlesner, James P. D’Alessandro and David Weber will have a 4-minute opening and 20 minutes for questions and answers.
The forum is sponsored by the Williams Bay Civic League and the Geneva Lake Branch of the American Association of University Women. It will be moderated, and questioners must identify themselves.
-- 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the Phoenix Middle School Auditorium, 414 Beloit St., Delavan. The Delavan Enterprise and Delavan mayoral candidate Ellen Reddy are hosting a forum for District 8 candidates Dorothy Burwell, Joseph Guido Sr., Dan Kilkenny and Jerry Waelti. Reddy will moderate the forum.
The forum will allow each candidate to share background on their views and goals as a board member. Audience members also can ask questions.
