BTC begins contract talks with faculty

— Blackhawk Technical College and the union representing its faculty will begin talks on a new labor contract Friday.

The two sides are scheduled to sit down in a public meeting at 3 p.m. Friday in Room 2100 on the central campus, 6004 S. County G, Janesville.

The Blackhawk Technical Faculty Federation, Local 2308, American Federation of Teachers-Wisconsin, AFL-CIO, represents about 105 faculty members. The current contract runs out June 30.

The two sides are expected to exchange opening statements and discuss the bargaining process at the meeting. Future sessions will be closed to the public unless both sides agree to bargain in public.
