Top-ranked Parker dismantles Memorial

— Janesville Parker High School breezed past Madison Memorial, 65-32, in Big Eight Conference girls basketball here Saturday night.

The league-leading Vikings, ranked No. 1 in the state in Division 1, improved to 10-0 in the Big Eight and 13-1 overall.


Parker took care of business early, rolling to an 18-6 first-quarter lead and a 39-12 halftime command.


Parker’s Alex Klawitter scored all 16 of her points in the first half, while teammate Catie O’Leary scored 10 of her 18 points in the first half.


The teams combined to shoot 50 free throws. Memorial (6-9, 4-7) made 12 of 20, while Parker connected on 20 of 30.
