— Janesville was hit with seven inches of powdery snow Monday, and 340 residents were hit with tickets.

The Janesville Police Department ticketed drivers throughout the city for parking in the street during a snow emergency, Sgt. Anne Brophy said.

The city declared the emergency for 10:30 p.m. Monday. Cars are not allowed on the street during a snow emergency until the street has been plowed curb to curb.

At least 10 minor car accidents occurred during the storm, Brophy said.

The snow delayed Janesville schools one hour and Clinton schools two hours. Janesville has received 39 inches of snow this season.
