UW skaters win in Alaska

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Matthew Ford scored at 14:45 of the third period to give Wisconsin a 2-1 victory Friday night over Alaska-Anchorage.

Wisconsin (10-10-3, 6-8-1 WCHA) opened the scoring at 13:46 of the first period on a goal by John Mitchell. Alaska-Anchorage (6-10-5, 2-10-3) tied it on a goal by Josh Lunden with 16:18 remaining in the final frame.

Shane Connelly had 27 saves for Wisconsin, while John Olthius had the same number for Alaska-Anchorage.
