Matt Drew was the sharpshooter again Thursday night for Milton High’s boys basketball team.


Drew, a 5-10 senior guard, followed up Tuesday’s six three-point goals and 22 points against Janesville Parker with four three-pointers and 24 points as the Red Hawks notched a 64-52 victory over visiting Delavan-Darien.


With its second win in three days, Milton climbed to 7-6 for the season and pulled even with Delavan-Darien (6-7) at 3-3 in the Southern Lakes Conference.


Drew hit a pair of three-pointers in helping Milton to a 17-12 advantage in the first quarter. He also made eight of 10 free throws and scored 13 points in a 20-12 fourth quarter that decided the game.


Mason Walters, a 6-5 junior forward, backed up Drew with 12 points for the Red Hawks. Aaron Logterman, a 6-7 junior, led the Comets with 13 points, while teammates Joe Kiemen and Jarret Fowlkes added 12 apiece.


Each team had seven three-point goals, with Fowlkes hitting four for Delavan-Darien.

Whitewater 53, Fort Atkinson 50—David Shears scored on a rebound, was fouled and converted the three-point play in the closing seconds to give Whitewater a Southern Lakes win at Fort Atkinson.


Fort Atkinson (5-7, 3-4) committed 23 turnovers, including one on an inbounds pass with 22 seconds left and the score tied.


The Blackhawks also couldn’t stop Whitewater’s Miles Hookstead inside. The 6-4 junior finished with 17 points as the Whippets improved to 3-4 in the conference and 6-6 overall.


Tony Bilderback scored 11 points for Whitewater, and Kyle Lencho added 10. Josh Meyerhofer led Fort Atkinson with 21.

East Troy 69, Jefferson 36—East Troy had a battle with Jefferson the first time around this season, but Southern Lakes leaders dominated the rematch.


The host Trojans pulled away from 31-21 halftime lead with a 25-6 outburst in the third quarter as the state’s fourth-ranked Division 2 team went to 7-0 in the conference and 13-1 for the season.


Kyle Jones had three of East Troy’s seven three-point goals and led the Trojans’ balanced attack with 13 points. Trevor Probst had 11 points for Jefferson (2-11, 0-7), which lost 66-55 to East Troy in December.
